The Phoenix Flowers in Cowcaddens in Glasgow City are a stunning regeneration project to make a dark walkway lit at night. They are also built near the site of Phoenix Park which was destroyed in the 1960's when the motorway M8 was built through the city.

A real hidden gem in the outskirts of Glasgow City Centre. Sighthill Park is home to the Sight Henge stone circle - never completed due to the tyrannical methods of the Tory Government in the 1970s and 1980s it is a serene and stunning place.

One of my favourite monuments in a Glasgow Park is in Bridgeton Park off Dunn Street. A set of large industrial beams laid out in a stone circle fashion.

Situated in the Toryglen/ Hangingshaw/ Mount Floria area of Glasgow South Cathkin Park was once home to Third Lanark - a football team of years gone by with a still strong following today. Much of the park is modernised but parts are allowed to overgrow and develop naturally.

The highest point in the City of Glasgow - Cathkin Braes Country Park. It offers some fantastic views across the entire city and beyond. Not the easiest to get to but regular buses will take you there via the Castlemilk Estate or Carmunnock Village.

Glasgow has some large and varied parks however the village of Carmunnock in the very south of the city has a nice little set of twin greens called Carmunnock Village Green.
